South African music producer pH Raw X finally shades light on his struggling financial situation. 

pH Raw X, born as Gift Nkuna, has been in the music industry for over a decade and has worked with massive local artists including Khuli Chana, AKA, Thandiswa Mazwai, Burna Boy, Sho Madjozi, Hip Hop Pantsula, Teargas, Reason, Ice Prince and has been instrumental in the discovery of artists such as A-Reece and Yanga.

The music producer took to his Instagram account to speak about his long-term ordeal while mourning the rap icon, Riky Rick who passed away on Wednesday. 

pH said he’s telling his story not to be comforted or sympathized but to allow everyone that is going through similar things to know they are not alone.

“I am broke, as a producer and artist, most of my career I’ve been broke, I’ve lived from hand to mouth. I left everything I had going for me for the music, ever since I lost my home, car, and family. I am a broke artist, I am a broke producer, I am a broken man… Over the years I’ve loaned so much money, just to maintain my broke… Some I even forget that I owe(embarrassing)…”

The music producer also stated his initial hesitation to make such revelation, worrying about how he would look and how it would affect his brand but most importantly, he considered that some will read about it and do better.

pH Raw X further wrote out a list of artist’s names, including the late Riky Rick, and appreciated them.
